There had been a water penetration problem within our strata building for a period of over twelve years. Despite two building inspections and many contractors, nobody was inclined to spend the time to trace the source of the problem. Remedial Building Solutions were the first to show a genuine interest in the problem. After painstakingly examining each balcony and the roof area and testing with water under pressure incorporating dye and high tech equipment, the source of the water entry was located and fixed within a fortnight. I would recommend RBS unreservedly.

In October 2013 Remedial Building Solutions assisted North Sydney Council with the rectification of a long term rising and descending damp problem at Sextons Cottage Museum. The building is a 19th century structure of local heritage significance. The problem of the rising damp was vexing because the structure sits low to the ground with little below floor ventilation. Remedial Building Solutions were able to detect the source of the problem, recommend a suitable solution and finish the job (i.e. re-plastering with lime based material) in a manner appropriate to the heritage standing of the building. Some two years after the work was completed, and following a period of very wet weather, there is no indication that the damp has returned.

I write to commend Remedial Building Solutions on the outstanding diagnostics and consulting work carried out to Crowne Plaza Terrigal. With over 25 years of water ingress to the building and numerous specialists being engaged to rectify the issue such as Engineers, Consultants, Builders, plumbers and water proofers, success was only achieved through Remedial Building Solutions. The issue of water ingress caused many disturbances, loss of income, maintenance and water damage repair costs and Remedial Building Solutions were engaged to source the water ingress issue. A plan was implemented to access the façade and internal property in conjunction as well as roof structure with a knuckle boom. The use of flood and Dye testing as well as micro camera and Thermal imaging were used to determine numerous water ingress locations throughout façade to all eight levels in 5 days of vigorous testing by 3 Remedial Building Solutions technicians and 1 Project manager.
Upon completion of testing we were provided with a detailed scope of works for repairs to the building with a list of defects and method of repairs to address the water ingress concerns which included, cavity flashings, brickwork repair, façade coating and caulking application. After remedy was applied as specified by Remedial Building Solutions as per report provided on 20th December 2008 Crowne plaza Terigal have been free from all leaks to current.
